Quickstart
Initialize a project, create an initiative, and add a ready task.
This walkthrough creates a small project with one task. Run the commands from the directory that should hold the project's .climier.json file.
1. Initialize a project
Create a directory and initialize Climier:
mkdir climier-demo
cd climier-demo
climier initinit creates the project metadata and the live schema-1 state. The live state is shared by checkouts through Climier's storage directory; you normally only commit .climier.json with your project.
2. Add an initiative
An initiative groups related work. The --as value records who performs the mutation:
climier add-initiative demo \
--desc "Learn the Climier workflow" \
--as alice3. Add a task
Create a task with an explicit body, acceptance criteria, and dependency list. An empty --blocked-by means that this first task has no blockers:
climier add-task T-example-1 \
--initiative demo \
--title "Write the first task" \
--body "Complete the first piece of work in the demo project." \
--acceptance "The work is complete and its checks pass." \
--blocked-by "" \
--as aliceA task with no unsatisfied blockers is ready to claim. ready and blocked are derived from the graph; they are not statuses that you set manually.
4. Inspect the task
See the project overview, then inspect the task contract:
climier status
climier context T-example-1status shows the ready pool and summary counts. context focuses on one node and shows its blockers, scoped information, and actions available to the current actor.
Continue the workflow
Follow Core workflow to claim the task, submit it for review, and accept it. The CLI reference documents every option without repeating the full contract here.
